In Basel territory, the Servette women left nothing for their opponents, cruising to a massive 11–1 victory!
The Garnet side entered this sunny afternoon clash against Sissach as the clear favorites. Focused and disciplined, Cristian Toro’s players crushed all hopes within just 7 minutes. In that span, Sobal (twice) and Karchouni found the net to put Servette three goals ahead. The Geneva side played like a steamroller, with Sobal completing two more goals and Simonsson also scoring twice. Sissach managed to pull one back from the penalty spot, to the delight of the home crowd. At half-time, Servette led 7–1.
After the break, the Garnet kept up the same intensity and drive to extend their lead. That’s when the Sissach players found a second wind, holding off Geneva’s attacks for most of the second half. But in the closing stages, Servette struck again. Marinelli scored a brace, Sobal added her fifth of the match, and Tufo capitalized on a scramble to notch the team’s 11th and final goal. Without a wobble, the Servette women booked their place in the next round of the Swiss Cup!
Servette FC Chênois Féminin warmly thanks SV Sissach for their kind welcome and flawless organization of this wonderful Swiss Cup day!
Now, a short rest for our Garnet before returning to work and facing St. Gallen in the first league match of the season next Saturday at Trois-Chêne (kick-off 16:00).
