SERVETTE FCCF – FC ST. GALL: THE FIRST ONE AT HOME!

Servette FCCF host St. Gallen this Saturday at the Stade des Trois-Chêne for their first home match of the AXA Women’s Super League season. It promises to be a real test for Cristian Toro’s players: St. Gallen managed to snatch a draw against YB on the opening day.

Servette FCCF are thus preparing to step into the league campaign in front of their home crowd. After a very convincing start (a 4–0 win away at Lucerne), the Garnet are set for a true challenge this Saturday. Their opponent, FC St. Gallen, is one of the teams that has improved the most in recent seasons. Proof of that: they held reigning champions YB to a draw.

But the Geneva side have nothing to envy. Following the arrival of several extremely talented signings, SFCCF have made their ambitions clear: to target both the Cup and League titles. The solid victory against Lucerne and the Swiss Cup rout (11–1 against Sissach) show that the team is already well set, both offensively and defensively. Some players are even proving that they already have what it takes to become stars of the league. The key now is to stay consistent: securing results against so-called “smaller” opponents while delivering big performances against the top sides. The danger would be to underestimate St. Gallen, who are very much capable of playing the role of spoiler.

We saw it last season with GC’s impressive run: there are really six teams that can compete for the different titles this year. Saturday will already give us an early indication of Servette’s form and level.

The match between Servette FCCF and FC St. Gallen kicks off this Saturday at 16:00 at the Stade des Trois-Chêne. You can get your tickets directly HERE!
