Under a gentle spring sun, the Servette players bowed out in the best possible way with a 4–0 victory over Aarau.
The past few weeks have been emotionally tough — not in the way we had hoped, of course. However, after last weekend’s 1–1 draw away at Aarau, Jose Barcala’s squad was determined to end a challenging season on a positive note.
For this final dance of the 2024–2025 season at Trois-Chêne, both the sunshine and the fans were present — and so were the goals. Imane Saoud set the tone from the start, breaking free from her marker and slotting the ball past Barth to open the scoring. Not long after, Paula Serrano doubled the lead with a stunning strike from outside the box before halftime.
After the break, the tempo dropped, and chances were scarce. It wasn’t until the closing minutes that Lazaro extended the lead, followed by Jonusaite, who sealed the final score in the dying seconds. A “meaningless” win in terms of league standings — the Servette players were already guaranteed a fifth-place finish — but one that lifted morale as the team headed into several weeks of well-earned physical and mental rest.
The 2024–2025 season ends on a high with a resounding 4–0 win against Aarau. The entire club thanks its loyal and unwavering supporters for standing by us throughout a season that could — and perhaps should — have had a better outcome. Football is like that: often fair, often cruel, but always full of lessons for everyone, in both good and difficult times.
We look forward to seeing you next season for a new adventure — a new chapter we’ll write together, from beginning to end, with the same passion for this club and these colors we hold so dear.
Thank you for everything, and allez Servette!
