FC LUCERNE WOMEN – SERVETTE FCCF: THE SHOW BEGINS

Servette FCCF kicks off its 2025–2026 season with an away trip to Lucerne (kick-off at 4 p.m. this Saturday). With a very talented squad, a new technical staff, and an ambitious philosophy, the Servette women are going all out in pursuit of both titles.

The 2025–2026 season begins this weekend with a trip to Lucerne. After a double disappointment last year, Servette FCCF has reflected, worked hard to address its weaknesses, and come back stronger. The club has great ambitions: to win the national championship, lift the cup, continue developing the excellence of its academy, and make the canton shine throughout Switzerland and Europe. To achieve this, the SFCCF sporting management has uncovered some rare gems.

It all starts with the architect, Cristian Toro. The Spanish coach spent 14 seasons between Sevilla and Valencia, at the very top of Iberian football. He arrives in Geneva with his energy and experience. The chemistry with the group is already working very well, and the players are responsive. His football is clear and precise: there will be plenty of spectacle at Trois-Chêne this season.

Asun Martinez and Gloria Marinelli to lead the attack

Among the new signings, the keys to the game and attack will be entrusted to Asun Martinez (a young Spanish international) and Gloria Marinelli (Italian forward arriving from AC Milan). Both players have already impressed during friendlies. Martinez will be one of the stars of the league. Technically outstanding and gifted with impressive vision, she joins from Valencia, where she previously played under Cristian Toro.

Talent everywhere and a World Champion in goal

Sporting director Marta Peiró used her network to unearth true gems. First, Maëva Salomon, MVP of the French second division, will support the attack with her explosiveness and ability to be dangerous with either foot. Then comes Lumbardha Misini, who will strengthen the midfield. The 22-year-old Kosovan international will bring tactical discipline and physical presence between the lines. But that’s not all: Ghoutia Karchouni adds her experience and quality in midfield. The Algerian international, who previously played for Bordeaux, PSG, and Inter, has already shone in preseason matches.

And finally, guarding the net will be a World Champion. Enith Salón, Spanish international also arriving from Valencia, will put her talent at the service of the team. Quick, explosive, and with exceptional vision, Enith will defend Servette’s goal this season. Crowned World Champion in 2023 with Spain, she brings elite-level experience and the hunger for more trophies.

First test against Lucerne

The team’s core — Paula Serrano, Daïna Bourma, Joana Marchão, Therese Simonsson, and Ana Jelencic — is still here! The squad is extremely competitive and travels to Lucerne for the first real test of the season. Against a strengthened opponent that will pose a significant physical challenge, Cristian Toro’s side will aim to claim their first points. The match will be played at the Sportanlage Hubelmatt from 4 p.m. Fans will have to wait until September 6 to see Servette play in front of their home crowd at Trois-Chêne. The next appointment is already this weekend, with further opportunities to build momentum ahead of the official restart.
