For their final away match of the season, the Servette players came away with a draw in Aargau.
With two “placement” matches to play against Aarau, finding motivation was understandably difficult. Especially since, based on the regular season standings and the points already secured, Servette were already guaranteed to finish in 5th place.
So perhaps the motivation lay elsewhere. In the starting eleven, for example, with starts for Wallin, Lushimba, and Lazaro — players who had seen less time on the pitch up until now — who were able to take advantage of this first match to gain valuable minutes. Muratovic also returned to the starting lineup, and Ana Jelencic was positioned on the left side.
Well organized, the Servettians were nonetheless caught off guard just before the half-hour mark by Vanessa Hoti, who scored with a powerful, perfectly placed strike that left Bottega no chance. Servette responded ten minutes later through Serrano, who was left unmarked in the box.
The score at halftime remained unchanged at the final whistle. Neither the Argovians nor the Genevans managed to break the deadlock in the second half.
The two teams will meet again next Saturday at 4:00 PM at Stade des Trois-Chêne for the return leg — the final match of the 2024–2025 season for Servette FC Chênois Féminin.
