SV SISSACH – SERVETTE FCCF: TIME FOR THE SWISS CUP!

Last weekend, Servette FCCF made the perfect start to the 2025–2026 season with a convincing 4–0 win against Lucerne. Now, it’s time for the Swiss Cup this Sunday at 3 p.m. against Sissach.

Cristian Toro’s players could hardly have begun their campaign better. Against an opponent that has often troubled the Garnet in past seasons, the team showed both solidity and efficiency when it mattered most. An ideal start that must now continue in Basel this Sunday against Sissach.

Even if the gap between the two sides is considerable, the Servette women cannot afford to fall into a trap or give their Basel opponents any hope. The 1st League side knows that Cup magic can strike at any moment, and that knocking out a team of Servette’s caliber would be a dream story.

If Geneva’s start to the season has been positive, Sissach’s has been just as strong. Playing at the Sportzentrum Tannenbrunn, they too have hit the ground running with a draw and a win. After drawing against FC Renens I, they went on to claim a 4–2 victory over US Terre-Sainte last weekend. The Garnet will therefore be the third French-speaking Swiss side Sissach faces in just three matches at the start of the season.

Servette FCCF naturally goes into this Swiss Cup Round of 32 clash as favorites, but they will need to stay focused and efficient to avoid giving any chance to a Basel side determined to cause an upset. The Servette women will not only need to be wary of their opponents’ fighting spirit, but also of Luana Pricoli, who has already scored 4 goals in two games this season. The Garnet have been warned.

After two away fixtures, the Servette women will finally return to the Stade des Trois-Chêne next Saturday, when they host FC St. Gallen at 4 p.m.
