SERVIETTE WOMEN’S FOOTBALL CLUB
SERVETTE FCCF – FC LUCERNE 3-1 (1-0)
After the Swiss Cup semi-final won against FCZ, the Garnets returned to the championship with the reception of FC Lucerne.
From the first minute of play, Padilla created a huge opportunity to open the scoring but came up against the last rampart of Lucerne. First thrill in the Lucerne camp. Despite the garnet possession, the players of central Switzerland will also create two very big chances. The first pushed back by the post, the second by an attentive Pereira. The garnet attacks will be rewarded in the 19th minute of play when Serrano subtly takes over a cross from Padilla for the opener. Eric Sévérac’s players will not stop there but the multiple attempts to worsen the score will not hit the mark until the break.
At the start of the second half, the pace is calmer, giving way to some management. Despite this, the Garnets still want to be enterprising. Facing a compact block, Cassandra Korhonen will manage to find a space and score the second garnet goal alone against the Lucerne goalkeeper. Lucerne would pull the score back around ten minutes later before Padilla sealed the score with a searing breakthrough.
The Garnets therefore have a third victory in a row in the space of a week! Now it’s time for an international break that will allow the team to rest their bodies after a busy week. Servette will return to the championship against YB on Saturday April 15.
