Servette FCCF – FC Basel: a clash for the head

The Servettiennes host the Bâloises this Saturday at 3pm at the Trois-Chêne for the clash of this 9th day of AWSL.

This first round of AWSL will have reserved some nice surprises, the biggest being surely the gap in level between the main teams competing for the title. As it stands, only three small points currently separate the first five places. Servette leads the dance while YB, Saint-Gall and Zurich are 16 points behind. Basel, today’s opponent of the Grenat, has 15 points but with one game in hand. This Saturday’s clash promises to be grandiose!

After their victories in the cup against FC Luzern Frauen and against GC in the championship, the protégés have found some color. A good omen before the match against Basel, the ideal moment to collect three new points, escape at the top of the standings and all this before the new international break that is coming. But before doing the math, the Servettiennes will first have to win on the pitch of the Trois-Chêne. Despite their clear domination every weekend, the Grenat are still struggling in the finalization. A lack of success compensated by impeccable discipline and constant seriousness. Nevertheless, the Servettiennes will also have to watch out for Milena Nikolic, co-top scorer in the championship alongside Bernese Naomi Luyet.

This match will also award the symbolic title of “autumn champions”. An additional motivation for the Genevans! All persons in possession of a ticket for Servette-Sion (season ticket or ticket) have the possibility of obtaining a free place for this Saturday’s match against FC Basel!
