SERVIETTE WOMEN’S FOOTBALL CLUB
RESUMPTION OF TRAINING
The objective will be to defend the two national titles but also to try to qualify for the Champions League.
50 days after a historic end to the season which saw the SFCCF sweep everything in its path, the team meets again to set out to conquer other emotions, other chapters to write. This first stage will take place this Monday, July 15 at the Stade des Trois-Chênes. José Barcala will reunite with his new group for the first time to properly launch this new season.
If the team experienced several departures during the off-season (Pereira, Mendes, Spälti, Ortiz, Schider, Cutura, Zogg and van Nuland), the return of Manon Revelli and the arrivals of Tinja-Riika Korpela and Imène El Ghazouani (other arrivals will be announced soon) allows the Servettians to set big goals. Among them: staying at the top of the AXA Women’s Super League and qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League.
The program
Servette FCCF will meet this Monday, July 15 at the Stade des Trois-Chênes to experience their first training of the season together. The Servettians will then go to Crans-Montana for a 4-day camp from July 24 to 27. Then, four friendly matches are planned before the season kickoff:
July 27 SFCCF vs Como (venue and time to be defined)
August 3 SFCCF vs Juventus (Val d’Aosta, time to be defined)
August 7 SFCCF vs Thonon (place and time to be defined)
August 21 SFCCF vs Marseille (Trois-Chêne, time to be defined)
The AXA Women’s Super League season begins with two trips for the Genevans. First in St. Gallen on August 10, then in Rapperswil on August 17. The first match at Trois-Chênes will be played on Saturday August 24. Servette FCCF wants to defend its titles gleaned in the Swiss Cup and the Championship.
Regarding qualification for the group stages of the Champions League, the SFCCF is playing the “Champions Way” tournament at the beginning of September. The Genevans face the Polish side MKS Pogoń Szczecin on September 4. In the same group, the other poster will see AC PAOK (Greece) facing Maccabi Kyriat Cat (Israel). In the event of a victory against the Poles, the Servettians will face the winner of the other meeting a few days later, on September 7 to be precise. The team that wins this final advances to a final play-off to dream of the group stage.
