FC SAINT-GALL – SERVETTE FCCF: RETURN TO VICTORY
In a balanced meeting, no one emerged victorious from the duel between Geneva and Bern at La Fontenette. Despite good chances, Jose Barcala’s players were unable to find the fault a second time to pocket the three points.
Now stands St. Gall on the Garnet Road. It’s this Saturday at 3 p.m. A young and quality team aiming for the top of the table. This is evidenced by their very start to the championship: two victories for three draws, such is the Saint-Gallo record before crossing swords with Servette. An unequivocal 6-1 victory against Frauenteam Thun Berner-Oberland. The second was this Wednesday against GC, with the same score as the Servettians last Saturday: 3 to 1.
But before you can win, you have to know not to lose. A slogan well applied by Marisa Wunderlin’s players who were able to hold on to FC Zürich last weekend as well as YB and Basel at the start of the season.
Nothing will be easy for Servette who is eagerly awaited in Saint-Gall. Last season, the Genevoises had transformed into a real bête noire for the Brodeuses. They won all the duels between them and Saint-Gall. Except for the semi-final second leg of the playoffs. In this batch of victories, we will remember the spectacular comeback with a goal from Elodie Nakkach in the last moments but also and above all the victory in the Swiss Cup final.
The two duels of the four undefeated
Four teams still remain undefeated after five days of the championship: Zürich, YB, Saint-Gall and Servette. This Saturday, the Garnet face Saint-Gall, while Zürich faces… YB! Two matches to follow very closely in the Axa Women’s Super League this weekend.
