FC LAUSANNE-WOMEN SPORT – FCCF SERVETTE: A HISTORIC DERBY

The Servetiennes travel to the Stade de la Tuilière this Saturday at 2 p.m. for the first lake derby in women’s football against FC Lausanne-Sport Féminin.

After a good performance against FC Saint-Gall last Saturday (4-1) in the Axa Women’s Super League, the Garnets return to the Swiss Cup in order to seek a place in the round of 16.

Lausanne-Sport Féminin was created during the 2005-2006 season “under the impetus of several women wishing to practice this sport” we can read on the LS website. Last Sunday, June 4, after a victory against FC Le Parc with a score of 2 to 0, the Lausannoises validated their rise to the 1st league, the third national level.

They will meet a Servette team in form this Sunday. The Genevans have not yet lost a match in the league after 6 confrontations. As for the Lausannoises, they are currently in 8th place in the ranking after 7 matches. A place in the round of 16 of the Swiss Cup is at stake and the atmosphere is likely to be electric with Grenat eager to retain their Swiss Cup title and Lausanne motivated to create the feat.

Servette FCCF will need all its supporters on Saturday. This will be an opportunity for the club to take its revenge in this tile stadium where it lost in the championship final a year and a half ago. Since this first derby will remain in the annals in any case, the Genevans hope, supported by a large audience, to mark it with a milestone by putting in a great performance.

Come on Servette!
