FC BASEL FRAUEN – SERVETTE FCCF: THE SHOCK AT THE TOP

Servette FCCF, current leader of Axa Women’s Super League, travels to the Rhine to face its runner-up FC Basel.

After 6 days of the championship, the top of the table is starting to take shape. At the head of the ranking, the Grenat are isolated leaders with 14 points but closely followed by Basel and Zürich both with 13 points. YB, still undefeated like the Servettians, completes the leading quartet with 12 points.

The Garnets have been full of confidence in the space of two weeks. Two victories in the league (against GC then Saint-Gall), a big victory in the Swiss Cup against Lausanne in the derby and a draw conceded at home against YB. Good results obtained by the group which transcribe the good form of the moment.

Tomorrow from 5:30 p.m. a Basel group will take shape which has changed particularly well since the last confrontation between the two teams. Indeed, after a 22-23 season below targets, FC Basel worked hard during the summer transfer window. Indeed, nearly 16 players joined the Rhine club last summer. This total rises to 20 with the inclusion of 4 juniors in the first team. So many arrivals which echo the numerous departures or end of careers on the Balois side. Among these new arrivals, the Grenat will find Coumba Sow who played in the Servetti jersey during the 2nd part of last season.

It is therefore a real battle that the two teams will engage in from 5:30 p.m. at the Leitchatletik Stadion!
