SERVETTE FCCF – GC WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: FINISH THE JOB AT HOME

After a frustrating first leg in Zurich, Servette FCCF must complete the task this Saturday at Stade des Trois-Chêne to secure their place in the Playoffs semi-finals. Kick-off is at 5:00 PM, in what promises to be a fiery atmosphere.

Dominating isn’t winning. This old saying sadly came true last Saturday for the Servettiennes. Well organized and assertive on the pitch, they nevertheless let slip a victory that was within their grasp against GC Frauenfussball (1-1). A result that leaves a feeling of unfinished business… but also leaves everything open for the second leg.

Cassandra Korhonen perfectly launched her team at Letzigrund with a calm, composed goal in the 25th minute. But despite clear dominance and well-structured play, the Genevans failed to kill the game. A lack of efficiency in the final 30 meters ultimately proved costly: on a rare Zurich attack, GC equalized ten minutes from time.

Everything will be decided at Trois-Chêne
On Saturday, the Grenat will have the chance to set things right in front of their home crowd. At home, in a stadium they know like the back of their hand, José Barcala’s players know they’ll need more sharpness, more clinical finishing, and above all, the same defensive rigor… without any mistakes. GC has already shown that just one chance is enough to make Servette falter. There will be no mercy.

The stakes are clear: a spot in the semi-finals and the chance to continue dreaming of another Swiss championship title. After the frustration of the first leg, the Servettiennes want to prove they are truly one of the strongest teams in the country. A great SFCCF performance will be needed to overcome this Zurich hurdle.

See you this Saturday, April 20, at 5:00 PM at Stade des Trois-Chêne. The match will take place on pitch B, just behind the main stand. One motto: win.
